Awesome food prepared in front of you. Helpful sushi chefs offer advice when asked. Wonderful selection of sushi. Some of the best to I've ever had. Hokkaido sea urchin was excellent. Egg custard appetizer was special.I would go back in an instant.

So glad this place is open for takeout during SIP. Amazing, high quality, fresh sushi. We had the dungeness crab chirashi bento and several maki rolls. The bento was packed with a wide variety of interesting and tasty bites, and the centerpiece chirashi had a generous portion of crab and roe. We definitely got our money's worth. We also had the vege tempura sushi, which is usually a throwaway, but here was both interesting and hearty. Please support Sanraku during SIP-we want them to stay around!

We had just arrived in SF and were tired and hungry, we walked down the street from our resort and found Sanraku. Since I had been having a hunger for noodles and sushi this was the place! My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner while watching the Sushi Chef's work their magic and it was great! Both the food and the show were stellar! Folks if you get the chance check out Sanraku I know the Sushi Rolls and egg drop soup are great. When we come back we will eat again!

This place was recommended by a local. The food was fresh and service quick. But the quality of the sushi was average. I ordered the Sushi Lovers Special which consists of 6 sushi rolls chosen by the chef, and 6 California rolls ($23). The chef's choices were good and included Tuna, Salmon, and eel. The California roll was made with shredded substitute crab and lacked the solid texture of better prepared CA rolls. I'd go back. The prices (especially for San Francisco) were really good.

Good Japanese fare at good prices considering the quality of the fish and the location. Our food and drink came out fast. They had some seasonal specials when we visited, including a delicious duck salad. Sashimi and nigiri are super fresh. Desserts are very well priced. We tried the flan (they call it homemade pudding) and matcha ice cream.

Sure, it’s a little more pricey than other sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. But here, you actually get what you pay for. It’s clean. The fish is fresh and the rolls are incredible. Sit at the bar and ask the chefs for their recommendations!

This place is amazing! Everything from the atmosphere, to quality of food to service! Every roll we ordered was delicious. Sashimi was fresh and everyone was super nice. Parking can be tough at times, but not impossible. The soup is also very good, but took a bit to prepare the one time we ordered it.

The food was really good, but the service was pretty lacking. We were there for five minutes before we were even acknowledged, and the place wasn't even half full. Our glasses of water didn't have any ice, so it was just warm. The house wine tasted like it came out of a box. The sushi rolls were really good though, which is why I'm giving them three stars.

The tofu fried with veggies with a side of rice was yummy with the exception of the tofu. The tofu was a bit to soggy for my taste. The sushi was delicious! Temporary veggie roll, and spicy salmon roll.

Great food with cold service. I have been here twice with different groups of friends and some waitress are really unfriendly. Their food is fine. Parking around that area is difficult.

Great food and amazing service. My daughter dropped her favorite broccoli tempura while trying to use her chopsticks. We just chalked it up as a lost item. The team over there quickly picked it up and threw it away. A few minutes later they had brought a new one for my daughter. It couldn't have made my daughter happier. That's the kind of service that will make me go back.

We enjoyed the dinner with my wife. It is crowded but there are a lot of tables. Sushi was nice. When we asked for the spoon for the miso soup we were told! that people generally drink it directly from the bowl! Service here definitely needs to improve.

This is one of the best bowls of miso I have ever had. The sushi was delicious and perfectly flavored. The service was great and the menu had many options. The location was clean and quiet and we had a view of Yerba Buena Park. Can’t wait to go back.

My second visit to Sanraku was wonderful. Ten years ago I visited and the sashimi was top notch. Ten years later the staff are still so wonderful, the food still amazing. This is a must in SF.

The best food we have had so far on our trip! The rainbow roll and the sashimi are fabulous. The miso soup might be one of the best ever. Teriyaki and sesame chicken were also good, but we recommend just going with the sushi.

I went at around 4 pm. There was no crowd to speak of but the service was very quick and the food was excellent. The katsu donburi was very good. The salad and miso soup were all very good. The nigiri is expensive, but it’s a sizable slice. I would definitely go back. Reasonable prices and portions.

This place was so great! The staff were all very friendly and helpful when we asked questions, and the food of course was amazing! I love that whenever people left, the sushi chefs would wave bye and say thank you for coming. Little things like that go a long way for me.

Was not impressed with this place. Made reservations thinking that like most places we would get decent seating because we did that in advance, only to be sat in the back in a dimly lit area. Sushi was fresh and looked good, but lacked flavor and had I to resort to dipping in soy sauce for longer to get any real taste. The staffing was different from any other place I’ve ever been to and rotated between everyone that was walking around to help us. Not once were we asked if we were enjoying our food. For the price we paid we expected at least decent service, but were disappointed. Most likely will not be back, it’s a shame because we are in the area often and looking for a an addition to our sushi staple restaurant.
